Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution welcomes Elizabeth Rivera as their new Director of Development, Principal and Major Giving. Elizabeth comes with over 15 years of progressive fundraising experience, and a track record of engaging top donors on behalf of an organization. In this role Elizabeth will manage donors in the greater New York City region to support the ambitious and strategic fundraising growth of WHOI.
Most recently, as Director of Individual Giving, Elizabeth managed the individual giving program at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art where she worked closely with faculty and deans and oversaw a team that exceeded ambitious goals each year. She built and ran the annual giving program in her previous two positions, first at UNC Greensboro and then at St. John’s University and Elizabeth’s approach to fundraising is built on her abundant and successful experience in annual giving.
In her new role at WHOI, Elizabeth will report to the Chief Development Officer, Court Clayton and will work closely with other development colleagues and key stakeholders to expand the donor base in the NY Tri-State area.
Elizabeth is deeply passionate about WHOI’s mission and is looking forward to increasing support on behalf of the vital work of the organization.
