The Salvation Army (TSA) welcomes Kari Ann Corda as their new Major Gifts Officer (MGO). Kari Ann will be joining TSA with development experience from her time at the American Heart Association and First Concern Pregnancy Center. Kari also brings experience working as an Account Manager at JKL Investigations, as well as RS medical, where she continued to effectively build important and authentic relationships with high level decision makers and constituents.
Most recently, at American Heart Association, Kari served as a Development Director, focusing on the Go Red for Women campaign. She successfully re-implemented the campaign after a three year hiatus, planning and hosting a high-end Evening Reception at the State Room. Kari brought strong fundraising, communication, and negotiation skills to build long-term relationships with donors and constituents. Kari also recruited, trained, and managed an Executive Leadership Team comprised of C-Suite women.
At First Concern Pregnancy Resource Center, Kari secured and stewarded donors to raise funds for their Capital Campaign for a new Medical Center. She was also responsible for the hiring, managing, and training of staff and volunteers, as well as securing and engaging new donors, clients and supporters. Reporting to the Board of Directors, Kari prepared monthly reports on the Center’s progress and growth, and helped to develop and implement annual marketing plans for galas, events, social media, and more.
Reporting to the Divisional Director of Advancement (DDA), Carlisa Brown, Kari will strategize and prospect for new donors in cooperation with the DDA and other fundraisers to maintain a robust portfolio of 100-150+ major gift donors. As a member of a 13-person development team, Kari will collaborate with other departments (Social Services, Emergency Disaster Services, Programs, and other staff), to serve the needs of the Division and Corps fundraising priorities. Kari is eager to bring her non-profit and development experience to support the work of the Salvation Army.
