Mystic Aquarium is pleased to welcome Michael Finley as its new Senior Director of Government Relations. Michael is deeply knowledgeable of Connecticut’s political, regulatory, and legislative processes.

Most recently as a Public Policy Coordinator at Mental Health Connecticut (MHC), Michael spearheaded the planning and execution of MHC’s public policy and facilitated public policy meetings. Michael also served as the registered lobbyist during legislative sessions. In his prior role as Government Relations and Public Affairs Manager at Epilepsy Foundation of Connecticut, Michael represented the foundation at state and federal levels.

In his new role as Senior Director of Government Relations, Michael will use his expertise and strong relationship building skills to cultivate and maintain relationships with government, civic and political stakeholders, as well as identify and implement engagement initiatives that advance Mystic Aquarium’s mission forward.

Michael will report to the Chief Advancement Officer, Tina Couch, where he will plan and coordinate the government affairs strategy across the organization while advocating for Mystic Aquarium with elected and appointed leaders at the city, county, state and federal level.
